A Pink, Black and Silver Crackle Mash up NOTD Featuring Barry M and Models Own Crackle Polishes

Hello you gorgeous lot.  Whilst I'm away I have enlisted the help of some fabulous bloggers to guest post for me.  Please meet and welcome the beautiful Aysha from Truly Madly Beauty you have to check out her Arabic Eyes posts, they are simply divine.

Well hello there everyone!  How are y’all doing?   My name is Aysha from over at Truly Madly Beauty and I’m just your bog standard “perfectly normal/sane” (despite what you may have heard) blogger and lover of all things beauty and makeup related!
The lovely Jude has very kindly (& bravely) allowed me to do a guest post on her fab blog this week as she is jetting off on holiday, to somewhere very sunny, I hope the lucky thing!  Not envious at all hun….in fact, wanna take me with you??  I’m quite the midget and can fit into a suitcase very easily (actually talking from experience here…) Oh lord, you’re probably already regretting letting me loose on your blog aren’t you??

Sorry for digressing majorly their loves, anyhoos on to the post!  I thought I would share with you all a quick and simple NOTD I did recently and of which the finished result I quite liked?  I do love my nail polish; I do and very rarely have bare nails.  Would I go so far as to saying I’m an addict? *cough*  Okay maybe I would….I just love how; by simply applying a pretty shade to the hands, it can just lift up your mood.  Or is that just me?  I also love dabbling in a bit of nail art as well but am definitely no pro, but I’ll keep on working and practicing as it’s something I really enjoy doing :)

One thing I absolutely love at the moment and ever since they came out actually are the fab crackle polishes.  I’m sure you’ve all seen them,  Barry M was the one who started it I think and slowly others caught on and followed suit and now they’re available pretty much everywhere!  Barry M still remains a firm favourite of mine though, especially the nail paints!  My aim in life is to eventually own them all, not only are there some truly gorgeous shades but they’re good quality and great value for money too!

The crackle polishes are really a great, quick and easy way to jazz up your nails!  In this NOTD I used a simple bubblegum pink nail polish as the base colour, which I picked up from my hairdresser’s who is Lebanese & bought these back with her. But go for any colour you like!  Metallic shades especially look STUNNING underneath black crackle.

I first applied two coats of the pink over a clear basecoat.  Any one will do, at the moment I’m using Models Own 3in1 which is a base & topcoat in one.  I opted for two different crackle polishes for this NOTD, one is my fav Barry M in Black and the other was Models Own in Silver.  I’ll be honest and say that I was a tad disappointed with the Models Own one, I found the consistency very gloopy and there wasn’t enough crackling action going on!  The Barry M one definitely crackles better.

Next I applied the black crackle on my thumb, middle and little finger over the entire nail, then grabbing the Models Own Silver, just applied it across half the nail in one sweep on the remaining two nails.  The crackle dries really quickly so you need to be a bit of a fast mover!  It also dries matte so to finish off I just applied clear topcoat for a nice glossy look.

And that’s it me dears!  Funky, crackly nails in an instant!  Hope you like them!

Thanks for reading honey’s and big thank you again to the lovely Jude!

Lotsa love, Aysh xoxo

So there you have it lovelies, pop over to Aysha's Blog, take some tea and biscuits, you may be there for a while.
